Hello everyone, hope you are all having a nice Summer! This site has just been transferred to another domain host and what you are currently seeing is a temporary older version. Hopefully, within a few days it will be updated, and eventually expanded. Also, because it was designed for a large desktop size, I will either re-size it or suggest on the Homepage the best screen-resolution with which to view it......if you have any comments on this, or indeed on anything, please don't hesitate to contact me. Best wishes Martyn |

Hi Martin, what a very interesting and useful site this is! I'm very new to collecting Observer's Books, though I rapidly seem to be becoming addicted (is this curable?). A couple of months ago I stayed a few days in Hay-on-Wye (always painful on the 'pocket') and came home with a nice 1st ed. Astronomy, plus 1960's editions of Wild Animals and Music, having also seen lots of others I'd have liked but just couldn't afford (or carry) in one spree. One such was the Automobiles 1966 'Rolls-Royce'ed. for about £20. When I got home I thought I'd check on the eBay auction site to see if people were trying to sell Observer's - you can probably imagine my amazement the first time I saw the results. The first title I bid on was the same 'Rolls-Royce' Automobiles, in comparable condition to the one I'd seen in Hay. I got it for £6.50! Since then I've been bidding regularly for Observer's on eBay and have already started to build up a small collection of titles relatively cheaply. A |

A big Thankyou to everyone who attended the Bristol Swapmeet!! An estimated 140 people came and from what I gauged, everyone had a great time with a very wide variety of books to be haggled for! Probably the biggie was the unpublished Country Houses which was snapped up quite early on in the proceedings. Again, a big Thankyou and hopefully Bristol will become a regular annual event, at least. I would also like to thank Philip and Dave for all their hard work too! Best wishes Martyn |

I have been collecting observers books for a few years now, and am still surprised to see that interest has grown since even I started collecting. I am a keen collector of first editions only, due to limited space. Having recently returned from world travel for two years, I was overjoyed to see there is now a website for observers collectors. I have yet to discover the full content of the website, but will look forward to chatting to people who are interested in these books too. Martyn, your idea to have a swapmeet in Bristol is great, I'm from the SouthWest and it would be handy to have one down this way. |

Hi everyone! I'm afraid I have to admit to not being an Observers completist. I am fanatical about the Folk Song revival of the 1970s and really want a copy of the Folk Song book for itself, not for it being number 87 in a collection. I must also admit to loving the little books, I have space flight, Football and several others but I would love anyone to email me if you come across a copy of Folk Song... Please... best wishes Alistair Banfield |

Hello everyone........I would like to offer apologies to anyone who may have had problems accessing this site over the last week. A minor javascript error on the home page has since been rectified (this may have affected those who have older browsers). There has also been prolonged technical problems with my ISP, which has hopefully been all sorted! Best wishes to you all1 Martyn |

Martyn, I like this site very much, I'm sure it will be a constant source of reference. The 'Directory of Jackets' is extremely useful. I have put a link from my home page to this one. I would appreciate if you would do the same. My site takes on a slightly different slant and is aimed at new collectors but hope all will find of interest. Have a look-see........ Also I am developing specialist database software for the obs collector, if anyone has comments - suggestions on this plese get in touch. regards Col www.observers.ic24.net |

A 'Birdwatcher', who rushes off at a moment's notice, all excited to see a rare bird, is known as a 'Twitcher'. I have become an 'OB Twitcher' Let me explain. In a Antiques shop the other day, a lady told me she had seen FOLK SONG in another town. It was a price I could afford, (65th bithday preasent). Just like the rare bird Folk Song took a bit of seaching to find it, but we did. Now only 7 books to get, and a 100 or so jackets. |
